Thomas Davis & Jackson Price Garner UAA Top Honors

The Emory University men's track & field team garnered two University Athletic Association postseason awards for the 2022 outdoor season. Senior Thomas Davis was named the Men's Most Outstanding Track Performer and freshman Jackson Price earned the Men's Rookie of the Year honor.

Davis becomes the 14th Eagle to earn this honor and the first since James Bassen in 2015. Davis is only the fourth athlete to win the award as specified for runners and the first since Alex Greenhouse in 2010.

Price is the third-ever UAA Rookie of the Year for the Eagles and the first since teammate Brett Henshey won the award in 2019.

Both Davis and Price excelled at the 2022 UAA Outdoor Championships in St. Louis, MO with both earning All-UAA honors in each of the four events they competed in. Davis won the 100m dash narrowly edging out Price by .01 as they finished in gold and silver positions. Price would go on to take home first place in the 200m dash with a time of 21.59 seconds while Davis finished just behind in second place, crossing the finish line at 21.91.

Davis and Price were each a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that captured conference titles. In the 4x100, the duo along with Sam Ryba and Liam Fost paced the conference field with a time of 41.27 which established a new program record before closing out the meet in style, reaching the top of podium yet again in the 4x400 along with Fost and Dawit Dean, recording a season-best time of 3:15.81.
