(Swimming) Emory University sophomore Anne Culpepper won an individual National Title in the 200-yard backstroke as part of Emorys team championship effort at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Culpepper won the event with a time of 1:59.74, a personal-best time.
(Swimming) Emory University seniors Ruth Westby and Lillian Ciardelli, sophomore Claire Pavlak, and freshman Ann Wolber were part of two National Championship relays, helping the Eagles to a team title at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. The four set a NCAA Division III record in the 200-yard freestyle relay, winning the event with a time of 1:31.80. The four Eagles also topped the standings in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:22.44.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Marie Kim recorded NCAA B cut times in the two breaststroke events at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet. Kim recorded a time of 1:06.06 in the 100-yard breaststroke time trials, good for a provisional mark.
(Swimming) Emory University sophomore Eileen Shi was part of two NCAA B cut performances during the top-ranked Eagles dual meet against eighth-ranked Division I Auburn University. Shi recorded a NCAA B cut time of 59.36 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, her best time of the season in the event and good for a third-place finish.
Emory University sophomore Claire Pavlak was part of two first-place finishes and three NCAA B cut performances during the Eagles dual meet against NCAA Division I Georgia Tech on Saturday. Pavlak finished first in the 50-yard freestyle, swimming a NCAA B cut time of 23.86 seconds. She swam the anchor leg of Emorys first-place 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:34.92) and third-place 200-yard medley relay team (1:47.88), which both turned in B cut times.
(Diving) Emory Universitys Chelsea Murphy recorded two top finishes and an NCAA qualifying score while competing in the diving events during the top-ranked Eagles meet against Delta State University and Wingate University. Murphy finished first in the one-meter dive with an NCAA qualifying score of 258.75 in the event.
(Swimming) Emory Universitys Theresa Gallagher recorded two top-three finishes and a NCAA B cut time during the top-ranked Eagles dual meet victory over the Division I College of Charleston. Gallagher finished first in the 400-yard individual medley with a B cut time of 4:36.87.
(Swimming & Diving) Emory University senior Ruth Westby was a part of six NCAA A cut performances during the Miami (Ohio) Invitational last weekend. Competing against mostly Division I opponents, Westby recorded a first place finish with an A cut time of 1:50.67 in the 200-yard freestyle, after recording an A cut time of 1:50.00 in the preliminaries.
(Swimming) Emory Universitys Anne Culpepper finished the Emory Fall Invitational with three NCAA B cut times and four top-10 finishes, helping the team to a first place finish out of eight teams. Culpepper finished second out of 62 swimmers in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:03.34, an NCAA B cut time. The sophomore recorded another second-place finish and provisional qualifying time in the 200-yard backstroke, besting 72 other swimmers with a time of 2:05.30.
(Swimming) Emory University senior Ruth Westby recorded two first-place finishes and three NCAA B cut times during the Eagles meet against the Division I University of Georgia. Westby won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.47 seconds, and finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 24.10 seconds.
(Swimming) Emory Universitys April Whitley was part of three NCAA B cut performances during the Eagles split performance against Division I opponents UNC Wilmington and the University of Houston. Whitley finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a B cut time of 1:06.83 in the event.
(Swimming) Emory Universitys Lillian Ciardelli recorded four B cut performances during Emorys season-opening win over Division I Davidson College. Ciardelli finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a provisional qualifying time of 24.10 seconds and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a B cut time of 52.89 seconds.
(Swimming & Diving) Emory Universitys Leslie Hackler recorded two B cut performance during the Eagles season-opening Blue/Gold meet on Friday. Hacklers time of 58.76 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly was good for first place in the event, and three-hundredths of a second better than the NCAA B cut time.
