(Swimming) Emory University senior April Whitley came away from the 2011 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with four National Titles, including two in individual events and two in relays. Whitley swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a school record time of 1:01.81 in the preliminaries and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.62, also a program-best mark.
(Swimming) Emory University freshman Kylie McKenzie recorded an NCAA ‘A’ cut time and four ‘B’ cut times at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet last weekend. McKenzie’s ‘A’ cut time came in the time trials of the 200-yard breaststroke, where she recorded a mark of 2:20.00.
(Swimming) Emory University senior Liz Horvat capped off her incredible University Athletic Association (UAA) career with four conference championships and three conference-record times at the UAA Championships. Horvat won the 500-yard freestyle with a UAA-record and NCAA ‘A’ cut time of 4:52.65.
(Diving) Emory University’s Sarah Greene recorded an NCAA qualifying score in the three-meter dive during the Eagles’ dual meet against NCAA Division I Clemson University. Greene’s score of 277.73 in the event was the best score of her young career, and good for a fourth-place finish.
(Swimming) Emory University’s Liz Horvat recorded an NCAA ‘A’ cut qualifying time in the 400-yard individual medley during the Eagles’ dual meet against Clemson University. Competing in the final home meet of her career, the senior and 2009 NCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year swam a time of 4:27.36 in the event.
(Swimming) Emory University freshman Sadie Nennig recorded an NCAA ‘B’ cut time and won two events, during the Eagles’ dual-meet victory over NCAA Division II Wingate University. Nennig recorded the Eagles’ only ‘B’ cut time of the meet, notching a time of 58.73 seconds and finishing first in the 100-yard backstroke.
(Diving) Emory University freshman diver Sarah Greene recorded a career-best and NCAA qualifying score in the one-meter dive, helping the Eagles to meet victories over Darton College and the Savannah College of Art & Design last Saturday.
(Swimming) Emory University freshman Jennifer Pak recorded a pair of NCAA ‘B’ cut times and three first-place finishes during the Eagles’ meet victories over Darton College and the Savannah College of Art & Design. Pak won the 200-yard freestyle, placing first out of 10 swimmers with a ‘B’ cut time of 1:53.68.
(Swimming) Emory University senior Liz Horvat finished first in two events to help the Eagles to a dual-meet victory over the NCAA Division II University of Tampa. Horvat finished first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:27.39, her fastest in the event this season.
(Swimming) Emory University senior April Whitley set school records in two events and swam six NCAA Division III ‘A’ cut times and two ‘B’ cut times during the Miami University Invitational. Whitley broke her own school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.86, an ‘A’ cut time (and a Division I ‘B’ cut time) and the fastest mark by a Division III swimmer this season, good for a third-place finish.
(Diving) Emory University freshman Sarah Greene was the team’s top finisher in both the one- and three-meter dive at the Georgia Tech Invitational last weekend. Facing almost entirely NCAA Division I competition, Greene finished 27th out of 35 competitors in the three-meter dive with a score of 201.40.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Claire Pavlak was a part of six NCAA ‘B’ cut performances during the Emory Fall Invitational last weekend. Individually, Pavlak recorded provisional qualifying performances with times of 23.95 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle (fourth place) and 52.51 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle (fourth place).
(Swimming) Emory University senior April Whitley was part of two NCAA ‘B’ cut performances, during the Eagles’ triangle meet against the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech on Wednesday. Whitley swam the breaststroke leg on the Eagles’ 400-yard medley relay team, which finished fourth in a ‘B’ cut time of 3:54.97.
(Diving) Emory University freshman Sarah Greene won both diving events during the Eagles’ season-opening meet against UNC Wilmington. Competing in her first collegiate meet, Greene finished first in the one-meter dive with a score of 234.15, and the three-meter dive with a score of 239.25.
(Swimming) Emory University sophomore Leslie Hackler recorded three NCAA ‘B’ cut performances, and two first-place finishes during the Eagles’ season-opening meet against UNC Wilmington on Saturday. Hackler finished first in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly, swimming NCAA ‘B’ cut times of 57.20 seconds in the former and 2:06.89 in the latter.
