Bridget Harding Tabbed as UAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

Emory University senior Bridget Harding was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season and 13th time overall on Monday afternoon.

Harding was 3-0 at second singles and 3-0 at first doubles as the Eagles went 3-0 against three top-15 opponents over the weekend in Maine. Harding won a pair of three-set matches in wins over #6 Tufts (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and #8 Amherst (5-7, 6-1, 6-2) and was a straight set winner against #14 Bowdoin (6-4, 6-1). In doubles playing alongside Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico, the duo ran their spring unbeaten streak to 14 with wins of 8-4, 8-1 and 8-6 during the three match wins.

The Northport, NY native also reached an impressive milestone over the weekend as she became the third player in Emory women's tennis history to reach 100 career singles win with her win against Bowdoin on Friday. She will enter the UAA Championships tied for second all-time with 105 doubles wins and third on the all-time list with 102 singles victories.

Emory opens the UAA Championships in Altamonte Springs on Friday, April 27th.
