UAA Names Cochran Offensive Player of the Week for Men’s Soccer

Emory University senior midfielder Jeffrey Cochran was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Offensive Player of the Week for Men's Soccer, after assisting on three goals, including two overtime game winners, during a pair of wins for the sixth-ranked Eagles.

All three of Cochran's assists during the week came on long throw-ins.  He played 36 minutes against non-conference opponent Oglethorpe University on Wednesday, and assisted on Sebastian Hardington's 'golden goal' with a long throw in the 107th minute that gave Emory a 2-1 double-overtime win.  On Sunday, he assisted on both goals with long throws during a 2-1 overtime victory in the Eagles' conference-opening win at Washington University (which entered the game as the 12th-ranked defensive team in Division III), including one on Matt Sherr's game-winning goal in overtime.

Cochran has four assists this season, including a pair on game-winning goal, and his nine career game winning assists are tied for the fourth most in the program's history, and two behind Patrick Carver's school record of 11.

Cochran and the Eagles have won 11-straight games, and are one of 11 undefeated teams remaining in Division III with an 11-0-1 record.

The following Eagles have been selected UAA Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week in 2014:
