Rosen Named UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week for Men’s Soccer

Emory University senior Noah Rosen was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week after leading the 24th-ranked Eagles to a pair of shutout wins in conference action last weekend.

Rosen played all 180 minutes during the two victories, limiting the two opponents to a combined four shots on goal, and 22 total shots.  During Friday night's 1-0 win over the University of Rochester, the center back helped hold the Yellowjackets to two shots on goal.  He followed that by allowing just six shots to Case Western Reserve University on Sunday, with just a pair on goal, en route to another 1-0 win.

Rosen has started all 16 games he has played in this season, leading an Emory defense that has recorded eight shutouts and ranks 17th in Division III with a 0.57 goals-against average.

The Eagles improved to 13-3-1 on the year with the two wins, and moved into third-place in the conference with a 3-3-0 University Athletic Association (UAA) record.  This was the second career Athlete of the Week honor for Rosen.

Emory will wrap-up its 2014 regular season in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 8th at 12:00 PM against Carnegie Mellon University.
