Streaking Eagles Welcome #17 Washington to Woodruff PE Center

The Emory Eagles return home after a four-game road trip to host UAA foe and 17th ranked Washington University at the Woodruff PE Center. The opening kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 PM. The Eagles are currently riding a five-game winning streak while the Bears are unbeaten in their past six games (5-0-1).

Emory Eagles Notes & Preview

Senior goalkeeper Abe Hannigan made three saves in Emory's 1-0 win over the University of Chicago…It was his fourth straight shutout and his fifth of the season…With the shutout, Hannigan became the program leader with 22 career clean sheets…He was also named the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week which marks Hannigan's first honor this season and the first for the team in 2015…Hannigan ranks first in the Association with his five shutouts, second with six wins and is fifth with a 0.60 GAA…Fellow Senior forward Sebastian Hardington scored the golden-goal for the Eagles in the 102nd minute to give Emory the 1-0 victory over the University of Chicago in the UAA opener for both teams…It was Hardington's fifth goal of the season which leads the team and ranks sixth in the UAA…The golden-goal was also Hardington's third of his career, moving him into a tie for second all-time…Sophomore Christian Meyer also ranks in the top-10 in goals in the UAA with three tallies on the year.

Washington Bears Notes & Preview

The Bears enter the weekend currently on a 5-0-1 unbeaten streak with the tie coming against Rochester in the UAA opener. Washington is led offensively by Jack West who has netted a team-leading six goals. West scored the game winner for the Bears in their 1-0 win over Westminster (Mo.) the last time out, his fourth game-winner of the season. Andrew Zingone has tallied three goals for second-most on the team while five players have registered two goals. In goal, Washington has seen two GKs split time with Daniel Geanon seeing the most playing time, recording a 4-0-2 record with a 0.32 GAA and 23 saves for a .920 save percentage. Also seeing action between the posts is Nick Tannebaum, who has played in six games, making five starts. Tannebaum is 3-1-1 on the year with a 1.14 GAA and a .520 save percentage. The Bears are led by Joe Clarke who is in his 19th season. In his career, Clarke is 417-170-72.

All-Time Series

The two programs have met 28 times previously with Washington holding a 13-8-7 advantage. Emory earned the victory last season, winning 2-1 on a Matt Sherr golden-goal in the 93rd minute. The win snapped a five-game losing skid to the Bears (0-3-2).

The Eagles will be back on the road for its next two contests, both against UAA opponents. Emory will take on #16 Case Western Reserve on Friday night at 7:30 PM before traveling to Carnegie Mellon on Sunday afternoon.
