Emory Women's Swimming & Diving Downs Birmingham-Southern, 157-108

The Emory Women's Swimming and Diving team posted eight event victories on Saturday afternoon, running its dual meet record to 4-0 with a 157-108 win over Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama.

Freshman Caroline Olson led Emory on the afternoon, recording a pair of victories to help the Blue and Gold to the 49 point victory. Olson touched first in the 50 Free with a time of 24.09 before taking the top spot in the 100 Free with a mark of 53.22.

Other winners in the swimming events included junior Sia Beasley in the 100 Back (58.88), sophomore Hannah Lally in the 100 Breast (1:07.44), senior Annelise Kowalsky in the 100 Fly (57.89), junior Isabella Issa in the 1000 Free (10:47.30), junior Julia Wawer in the 200 Free (1:57.16) and freshman Maria Kyle in the 200 Fly (2:09.31).

In addition, the Eagles swept both diving events with sophomore Avery Botansky winning the 1-meter with a score of 233.40 while junior Natalie Bauer claimed the 3-meter event with a score of 198.52.

Emory is back in action next Saturday, January 21st at 11:00 AM in the final home meet of the season. Prior to the start of the meet, women's swimming & diving seniors Kowalsky, Marissa Bergh, Claire Liu, Kristine Rosenberger, Marcela Sanchez-Aizcorbe and Grace Swinnerton will be recognize with a pre-meet ceremony.
