The third-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team defeated the seventh-ranked University of Chicago 9-0 on Friday afternoon to advance to the finals of the 2013 University Athletic Association Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Emory will face second-seeded and 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University in the UAA Championship match on Saturday at 9:00 AM.  The Eagles will be looking for their 24th UAA Championship in the 26 years of conference competition, dating back to 1988.

In the shutout, the team's second straight and sixth overall this season, Emory received doubles victories from Gabrielle Clark and Annette Sullivan, Jordan Wylie and Madison Gordon, and Brenna Kelly and Emma Taylor, all by 8-3 scores.

Clark (6-1, 6-2), Beatrice Rosen (6-1, 6-1), Wylie (6-3, 6-2), Gordon (6-2, 6-2) and Kelly (6-1, 6-0) all had straight-set victories in singles play, while Marissa Levine claimed a three-set victory (4-6, 6-4, 10-7).

Clark's singles victory was the 77th of her career, moving her into a tie for sixth-place on the school's all-time list.  She also picked up her 78th career doubles win during the match, moving into sole possession of eighth-place on the all-time ledger, and one win behind Jamie Chan for seventh.

With the win, Emory now stands at 12-4 this season.  Chicago dropped to 15-5 overall with the loss.
