Emory Women’s Tennis Class of ’17 Ranked 18th Among Mid-Majors

The incoming freshman class for the Emory University Women's Tennis team has been ranked 18th among Mid-Major programs by TennisRecruiting.net, and is the highest-rated NCAA Division III class according to an article recently published on the website.

The mid-major conferences for tennis include programs from the America East, American Athletic, Atlantic 10, Atlantic Sun, Big East, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, CAA, C-USA, Great West, Horizon, MAAC, MAC, MEAC, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, SoCon, Southland, SWAC, Summit, Sun Belt, WCC, and WAC conferences from NCAA Division I - as well as all programs outside of NCAA Division I.  Emory was one of just two Division III schools to appear on the list, along with 24th-ranked Johns Hopkins.

Emory's selection to the list was based on three incoming players – five-star prospect Michelle Satterfield, four-star recruit Melissa Goodman and three-star selection Katarina Su.  Also scheduled to join the team next season are Michelle De Meo, a three-star rated player, and Bruna Correa, an international player from Brazil.

Emory's incoming freshman class will join an already talented roster, which includes returning all-Americans in Gabrielle Clark, Beatrice Rosen, Annette Sullivan and Emma Taylor, along with 2013 all-UAA selections in Madison Gordon, Brenna Kelly, and Marissa Levine.  Emory finished second at the NCAA Division III Championships and won its 24th UAA Championship during the 2012-13 campaign, ending the year with an 18-5 record.
