Hannon & Lake Named to All-UAA Tournament Team

Emory University senior Brandon Hannon and junior Brett Lake were selected to the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Tournament team, based on their play at last week's conference championships in Sanford, Florida.

Hannon hit .379 (11-for-29) during the UAA Championships, leading all tournament players with three doubles and seven stolen bases on as many attempts.  He finished second among all participants during the week with 12 runs scored and a triple, while also driving in a run and walking eight times.  This was the third time in four seasons that Hannon has been named to the all-UAA Tournament team.

Lake led all UAA players with 12 RBIs during the tournament, finishing the eight games with a .353 batting average (12-for-34).  He added seven runs scored, and two doubles, while also stealing five bases on as many attempts.  It was the first career all-tournament honor for Lake.

The Eagles finished the UAA Championships with a 6-2 record, tying Case Western Reserve University for the conference title.  It was the 12th UAA Championship in the program's history and the third won by Emory in the last four years.  Emory stands at 15-7 overall for the season.

Following completion of the Association championship tournament, each coach nominated any number of players from their squads for All-Tournament consideration. Coaches then voted for 13 players (without regard to position) from the other UAA teams. The eleven players receiving the most votes received a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Emory will be back in action this weekend, hosting DePauw University on Saturday and Sunday.
