Emory Slips to Sixth After Second Round of NCAA DIII Preview

Through two rounds of the NCAA DIII Preview, the Emory University men's golf team sits in sixth place, falling one spot from the first round. The second round was played on the 6,694-yard, par-72 Keene Trace Golf Club course.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles notched a score of 306 in the second round to bring their two-day total to 605 (299-306). Emory is now tied for the tournament lead in total pars having accumulated 105 so far. No. 5 Christopher Newport now leads the field with a two-day total of 593 (299-294) while No. 13 Washington & Lee (594) and No. 1 Methodist (603) round out the podium. 

Junior Jackson Klutznick led the team in round two with a two-over par 74 to knot him up in 14th with a two-day total of 150 (76-74). Sophomore Michael Burry still leads the Eagles in overall scoring at the tournament with a 36-hole score of 148 (70-78) which sees him tied for seventh heading into the final round of play tomorrow. Sophomore Josh Qian has hit a tournament leading 27 pars which is good for a score of 151 (76-75) to deadlock him in 21st. Junior Michael Rosenbloom has had a solid tournament posting a two-round total of 156 (77-79) which is good for a 49th place tie. The final of Emory's golfers at the tournament is sophomore Tony Li who is tied for 71st after carding a 161 (77-84).

The Eagles will be competing in the final round of the NCAA DIII Preview tomorrow morning with hopes of catapulting up the standings.
