Through one round at the DIII Golfweek Invite, the Emory University men's golf team is knotted up in third place at the 54-hole event. The tournament is being played on the 6,651-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club course in Sandestin, FL.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles, coming off of their first win of the season at the Piedmont Invitational earlier this week, carded a one-over par 285 which sees them tied with No. 4 ranked Carnegie Mellon. Of the 24 teams competing, 15 are ranked in the top 25 with eight falling inside the top 10 in the latest GCAA DIII Top 25 Poll. Sitting atop the standings through the first round is No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan who registered a 283 while No. 3 Huntingdon is in the silver medalist position having scored a 284.

Sophomores Michael Burry and Josh Qian are tied atop the leaderboard for the Eagles each recording a one-under par 70 which sees them tied for ninth. Qian has hit a field-leading two-under par on all par-4 holes. Junior Michael Rosenbloom continued to be a consistent presence for the Eagles, carding a 72 which sees him tied for 23rd. Sophomore Tony Li finished just behind Rosenbloom, notching a 73 in the first round to knot him up in 39th. Rounding out scoring for the Eagles was junior Jackson Klutznick who carded a 77 which places him in a tie for 88th.

The Eagles are back in action for the second round of the Golfweek DIII Invite tomorrow morning with hopes of winning their second consecutive tournament.
