Men's Golf Pushes up to Second at DIII Golfweek Invite

The Emory University men's golf team improved their standing by one spot at the DIII Golfweek Invite moving up to second place through two rounds of play. The tournament is being played on the 6,651-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club course in Sandestin, FL.

The No. 2 ranked Eagles improved upon their already strong first day by hitting a 283 in the second round of the DIII Golfweek Invite to bring their 36-hole total to 568 (285-283). In the field of 24 teams, 15 of them are ranked within the top 25 while eight of them fall inside the top 10. Sitting in the gold medalist position thus far is No. 9 Illinois Wesleyan who hold a small two stroke lead on the Eagles while No. 11 Oglethorpe is in third having posted a 569 (288-281). 

Sophomore Michael Burry has been on a heater to start the season as he is tied for first place having matched his career low round with a 67 in the second round to bring his two-day total to 137 (70-67). Sophomore Josh Qian continues to be an important member of the Eagles squad recording a two-round total of 143 (70-73) which sees him knotted up in 20th place. Sophomore Tony Li had an outstanding day of his own notching a 71 to bring his total heading into the final round of action to 144 (73-71). Junior Michael Rosenbloom is tied for 42nd after registering a 146 (72-74) through 36-holes. Rounding out scoring for the Eagles is junior Jackson Klutznick who tallied a rock-solid 72 in the second round which moved him up into a 65th place tie. 

The Eagles return to action for the final round of play at the DIII Golfweek Invite tomorrow morning where they hope to win their second consecutive tournament of the season.
