Men's Golf Tied for First Through Two Rounds of The Shoals Intercollegiate

The Emory University men's golf team sits in a first place tie through two rounds of the Shoals Intercollegiate that were played on Monday. The 54-hole tournament is being played on the 7,060-yard, par-72 Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals course in Florence, Alabama.

The No. 1 ranked Eagles registered a two-round score of 579 (297-282) which is tied for the seventh best score through two rounds in program history. The Eagles recorded the most birdies of any team at the tournament with 30 through 36 holes. Emory is tied in first place with No. 3 Methodist who also carded a 579 (293-286) while No. 4 Carnegie Mellon rounds out the podium with a 585 (295-290). 

Junior Jackson Klutznick led the Eagles in the first day of competition notching a 141 (72-69) which places him in sole possession of fourth place. Sophomore Tony Li landed in sixth place through two rounds as he carded a 143 (73-70). Sophomore Michael Burry leads the tournament in pars with 30 as he is tied for seventh place with a 144 (76-68). Freshman Brian Hanson (151) and sophomore Nicholas Nautiyal (152) rounded out scoring for the Eagles as they are tied for 29th and 33rd, respectively. 

Emory has a B-Team in competition as well who sit in 14th place with a 36-hole total of 623 (312-311). Sophomore Josh Qian led the second squad in scoring with a two-round score of 154 (77-77) which places him in a tie for 41st. 

The Eagles are back in action tomorrow for the third and final round of action at the Shoals Intercollegiate with Emory set to tee off at 1:30 PM.
