The Emory University Track and Field teams earned a combined 36 combined All-Region indoor track & field selections as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon.
To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team. The organization first began recognizing All-Region award winners in 2016.
The women's team, which finished the season as the top ranked team in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast regional rankings, earned 25 South/Southern All-Region honors. NCAA-bound junior Gabrielle Stravach and sophomore Ariana Newhouse led the way with three All-Region selections apiece.
On the men's side, the Eagles garnered 11 All-Region selections with Naperville-bound junior Max Brown earning a team-high three awards in the 800m Run, Mile and Distance Medley Relay. The men's team closed out the indoor season as the No.-2 ranked program in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional rankings.
Stavach, Newhouse, Brown along with junior Erica Goldman, sophomores Dani Bland, Dilys Osei and freshman Kaitlyn Leonard will represent Emory at this weekend's NCAA Division III Championships. Action from Naperville, IL begins Friday afternoon.
