How Student-Athletes Can Bettter Market Themselves

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Emory student athletes and coaches have a firm belief in being active and visible throughout the greater Atlanta area with each intercollegiate squad taking part in at least one community service project per year.  These service outreach programs allow the Emory athletic department to develop positive and productive relationships with those outside the university as well as provide the opportunity for those involved to learn from one another.

The community outreach from the athletic department is part of  Emory's overall commitment to service with other opportunites to become involved availabe through The Office of University-Community Partnerships, which connects community organizations to Emory faculty, staff, and students who can assist them in addressing in specific need.

Another resource available for those who wish to give of their time is Volunteer Emory, founded in 1980 by Emory undergraduates, collaborates with agents of change for service projects and social justice work that promote learning about self and society.  Volunteer Emory facilitates service opportunities for Emory students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Our student-athletes engage in community service projects with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Special Olympics, Atlanta Food Bank and Habitat For Humanity.
