2009 Emory Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

    (Soccer – Offense) Emory University senior Talia Dweck broke the program record for assists in a season with a pair of helpers last week. Dweck tied the school record during Emory’s 5-0 win over Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday, assisting on a Lauren Smith goal.

    (Soccer – Defense) Emory University goalkeeper Erica Stein led the Eagles to a perfect 3-0-0 record in their final three games of the campaign last week. Stein recorded a 0.33 goals against average during the week with two shutouts and six saves. The freshman recorded her first shutout of the week during Emory’s 1-0 victory over Oglethorpe University on Wednesday.

    (Soccer – Defense) Emory University’s Lee Bachouros played the entirety of two games this weekend, helping hold opposing teams to just 12 shots, only four of which were on goal. In a 1-0 overtime loss to the 10th-ranked University of Rochester on Friday, Bachouros and the Emory defense held the Yellowjackets to just six shots, three of which were on goal.

    (Soccer – Offense) Emory University’s Lauren Smith scored the game-winning goal during the Eagles’ 2-1 victory over Case Western Reserve University on Sunday. Smith broke a 1-1 tie early in the second half, heading in a free kick in the 50th minute.

    (Soccer – Offense) Emory University’s Meghan McMahon scored her team-best fifth goal of the season during the Eagles’ 2-1 loss to Berry College. McMahon gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the match, scoring her goal at the 11:05 mark of play.

    (Soccer – Offense) Emory University’s Talia Dweck recorded three assists in two University Athletic Association (UAA) games last weekend. During Emory’s 1-1 tie against New York University, Dweck assisted on the Eagles’ only goal, as her free kick found the head of teammate Melanie Levy, who converted the pass for a goal.

    (Women’s Soccer – Offense) Emory University’s Talia Dweck scored her first goal of the season during the Eagles’ 2-1 loss to the 11th-ranked University of Chicago on Saturday. Dweck’s goal, coming off a penalty kick, came in the 30th minute of the contest and gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead at the time.

    (Soccer – Offense) Emory University’s Meghan McMahon scored her team-best fourth goal of the season during the Eagles’ 1-1 tie against 13th-ranked Washington University (Mo.). McMahon scored the goal off a Talia Dweck assist in the 11th minute of the contest.

During the Eagles’ 2-1 overtime win over Birmingham Southern College, Lezanski provided the key pass on Caroline Coates’ ‘golden goal’ with just one season left in the first overtime period.

    (Soccer – Defense) Emory University’s Emily Rubin played all 180 minutes for an Emory defense that allowed just six shots during two games. Rubin helped Emory to a 3-0 shutout win over Guilford College on Saturday, allowing the Quakers to take just one shot during the contest.

    (Soccer - Offense) Emory University forward Hailey Morris scored a goal and an assist during Emory’s last three games, helping the team to a 2-0-1 record last week. Morris scored her goal in the 84th minute of Emory’s 3-0 win over Millsaps College, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead at the time.

    Emory University midfielder Melanie Levy paced the Eagles with three points against Illinois Wesleyan University last week. Levy scored a goal and an assist against the Titans, accounting for both of Emory’s goals during the contest.
