    Emory University sophomore Elizabeth Aronoff helped lead the Eagles to their fifth-consecutive National Title with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. Aronoff won the National Championship in the 200-yard breaststroke on the final day of the meet with a time of 2:14.37, breaking the previous school record mark of 2:14.62, set by former Eagle April Whitley at the 2011 NCAA Championships. It was the 26th individual National Championship in the program’s history, along with 13 relay National Titles, and the first in an individual event by an Eagle since Sadie Nennig won the 200-yard backstroke in 2012. Aronoff also earned all-America honors with a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.53. She added a 19th-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a mark of 2:06.83. Aronoff scored 36 of the Eagles’ 595.5 points, helping Emory to the seventh NCAA Division III Championship in the program’s history.

    Emory University senior diver Sarah Greene earned her first career all-America during the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, helping the team win its fifth-consecutive National Title. Greene finished eighth in the three-meter dive after recording a season-best score of 452.80 during the preliminaries. She also claimed an all-America Honorable Mention with a 10th-place finish in the three-meter dive, registering a score of 397.70 during the finals. Greene’s two finishes added 18 points to Emory’s final total of 595.5, helping the Eagles to the seventh NCAA Division III Championship in the program’s history.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships by winning the one-meter dive at the NCAA Regionals in Grinnell, Iowa last weekend. Greene claimed a victory in the one-meter dive with an overall score of 420.80, automatically earning a spot in the NCAA Championships. She followed with a third-place finish in the three-meter dive on day two of the meet, registering a score of 424.90. Greene will now join the 17 Emory women’s swimmers selected to the NCAA Championship field, when the squad goes to Indianapolis, Indiana in search of its fourth-consecutive National Title from March 19th – 22nd.

    Emory University junior Lexi Tutor notched a first-place finish and an NCAA ‘B’ cut time at the Midwest Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago last Friday and Saturday. Tutor claimed the win in the 200-yard breaststroke, registering an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:22.74. She also added a time of 1:07.78 in the time trials of the 100-yard breaststroke. Tutor’s effort helped the top-ranked Eagles win the Midwest Invitational with a 356 points.

    Emory University junior Nancy Larson swept the freestyle sprint events and was a part of four winning relay teams at the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. Larson earned individual victories in each of the 50-yard freestyle (23.42 seconds), 100-yard freestyle (50.81 seconds) and 200-yard freestyle (1:50.86). In addition, she contributed to a pair of UAA record-setting relay performances, swimming the anchor leg on the Eagles’ winning 400-yard medley relay (3:46.30) and 800-yard freestyle relay (7:29.02). Larson was the anchor leg on two other victorious Emory relays, helping guide the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:33.83) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:26.40) to conference championships. Larson’s standout performance helped Emory win its 16th-consecutive UAA Championship.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Diver of the Year, after winning the one-meter dive and finishing second in the three-meter dive at the 2014 UAA Championships last weekend. Greene won the three-meter dive with a score of 464.00, breaking her own school record in the event. The following day, she finished as the runner-up in the one-meter dive with a score of 435.45, falling just 1.7 points shy of the conference title. This marked the first time in her career that Greene has been named the UAA Women’s Diver of the Year, and she became the first Eagle to garner the honor since Lisa Parton in 2006. Greene’s performance helped the Eagles to their 16th-consecutive win at the UAA Championships.

    Emory University sophomore Elizabeth Aronoff finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke in an NCAA ‘B’ cut time during the top-ranked Eagles’ dual meet victory over the University of the South on Saturday. Aronoff won the event with a time of 1:05.92, good for a provisional qualifying mark. She also finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.92, and third as the backstroke leg of the Eagles’ 200-yard medley relay, swimming a split of 31.03 seconds en route to a team time of 1:55.99. Aronoff accounted for 9.5 points during the meet, helping lead the Eagles to a 137-84 win and to a 4-4 record in dual meets during the season.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene swept both diving events with NCAA qualifying scores in each during the top-ranked Eagles’ dual meet win over the University of the South on Saturday. Greene claimed the win in the one-meter dive with a score of 274.27. She followed with the victory in the three-meter dive, registering another NCAA qualifying score of 269.25. Greene scored 18 points towards Emory’s team total on Saturday, helping lead the Eagles to a 137-84 win and to a 4-4 record in dual meets during the season.

    Emory University sophomore Jared Scheuer won the 200-yard backstroke during the third-ranked Eagles dual meet at the University of Alabama on Saturday. Scheuer finished first in the event with a time of 1:54.39, giving the Emory men their lone event victory against the NCAA Division I squad. He added a 12th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.14. Despite Scheuer’s standout performance, the Eagles fell to the Crimson Tide by a final score of 196-92.

    Emory University freshman Annelise Kowalsky recorded an individual event victory and a pair of NCAA ‘B’ cut performances during the top-ranked Eagles dual meet at the University of Alabama on Saturday. Kowalsky won the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:04.29. Earlier in the meet, she swam the breaststroke leg of the Eagles’ 400-yard medley relay team, recording a split of 1:02.38 and helping the squad to a third-place finish with an overall time of 3:47.97, good for another ‘B’ cut. Kowalsky added a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.41 seconds, and swam the anchor leg of the Eagles’ 400-yard freestyle relay team, recording an individual split of 53.92 seconds (the fastest on the relay team) and leading the relay to an overall time of 3:38.74. Kowalsky totaled 13.5 points for the Eagles during the meet, as Emory fell by a final score of 178-110 to the NCAA Division I Crimson Tide.

    Emory University sophomore Ellie Thompson swept the individual backstroke events and was a part of the winning 400-yard medley relay team, recording NCAA ‘B’ cut times in all three events, during the top-ranked Eagles’ dual meet against NCAA Division I Georgia Tech on Saturday. Thompson recorded times of 57.04 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke and 2:04.24 in the 200-yard backstroke, both good for NCAA provisional qualifying marks and first-place finishes. She also helped lead the Eagles’ 400-yard medley relay team to an event victory, swimming the backstroke leg and guiding the squad to a ‘B’ cut time of 3:52.71. Thompson account for 20.75 points during the meet, helping the Eagles outscore their higher-division opponent in swimming events, although Emory was edged by the Yellow Jackets in the final score, 159-140.

    Emory University junior McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg recorded three individual first-place finishes and an NCAA ‘B’ cut time during the top-ranked Eagles’ dual meet victory over Florida Southern College (the fourth-ranked NCAA D-II squad) on Friday. Newsum-Schoenberg won the 200-yard butterfly with an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 2:07.81. She also claimed a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:21.61, the fastest this season by an Eagle, won the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 5:08.05. Newsum-Schoenberg accounted for 27 points during the meet, leading Emory to a 195-67 victory over the higher-division Mocassins.

    Emory University junior Nancy Larson recorded six top-five finishes and eight NCAA ‘B’ cut times during the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio last weekend. Larson’s top individual finish came in the 100-yard freestyle, where she claimed second with a ‘B’ cut time of 50.61 seconds. She added provisional qualifying times with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.53 seconds), an 11th-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.52) and a 14th-place finish in the preliminaries of the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.11). Larson was also a part of four ‘B’ cut performances by Emory relays, swimming the anchor leg on the third-place 400-yard freestyle relay (3:26.50), fourth-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.50) and 400-yard medley relay (3:47.11), and the fifth-place 200-yard medley relay (1:44.59). She accounted for 132 of the Eagles’ 1,374.5 points, helping Emory finish fourth in the team standings.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene won a pair of events and set a school record at the Emory Diving Invitational on Saturday. Greene was the top finisher in the five-competitor field in the one-meter dive (11 dives), winning the event with a score of 458.50. The score surpassed her own previous school record of 457.65, set during the 2011 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships. She also won the three-meter dive (11 dives) with a score of 442.65.

    Emory University sophomore Elizabeth Aronoff recorded an NCAA ‘B’ cut time in the 200-yard breaststroke during the top-ranked Eagles dual meet against the University of Georgia, ranked second among Division I teams. Aronoff finished third in the event with a time of 2:21.41, the best time this season by an Eagle and good for an NCAA provisional qualifying time. She also swam the breaststroke leg of the Eagles’ fifth-place 400-yard medley relay team, which finished in a mark of 4:01.09. The Eagles suffered a 130-97 loss to the Lady Bulldogs, falling to 2-2 on the season.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene was the team’s top finisher in both diving events during the top-ranked Eagles dual meet against the University of Georgia, the second-ranked NCAA Division I squad. Greene finished second in the three-meter dive with a score of 281.09, the best mark by an Eagle this season. She later claimed third in the one-meter dive with a score of 259.71. Despite the performance from Greene, the Eagles dropped a 130-97 decision to the Lady Bulldogs.

    Emory University freshman Annelise Kowalsky won a pair of events and recorded an NCAA ‘B’ cut time during the Eagles’ 120-79 win over the Savannah College of Art & Design on Friday. Kowalsky won the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:04.66, good for an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the event. She was also a member of the winning 200-yard medley relay team, swimming the breaststroke leg in a time of 29.55 seconds, and helping the squad to an overall mark of 1:47.42, the fastest time by an Emory relay this season. Kowalsky added a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 59.86 seconds. With the win on Friday, Emory improved to 2-1 in dual meets this season.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene swept both diving events during the Eagles dual meet victory against Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday afternoon. Greene won the three-meter dive with a score of 275.78. She followed that performance with a victory in the one-meter dive, registering a score of 276.98. The reigning University Athletic Association (UAA) three-meter dive champion and four-time all-UAA honoree helped the Eagles to a 150-93 win over the Panthers in the team’s intercollegiate home-opening meet of the 2013-14 season.

    Emory University freshman Annelise Kowalsky won a pair of individual events and was a part of a winning relay team during the Eagles’ dual meet victory against Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday afternoon. Kowalsky won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.32. She followed that with a victory in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing first in the event in a time of 2:09.69. Kowalsky capped off the meet by helping the 200-yard freestyle relay squad to an event win, swimming the anchor leg in a time 24.26 seconds, en route to a team time of 1:37.91. Kowalsky’s performance helped the Eagles defeat the Panthers 150-93.

    Emory University sophomore Kellen Hope swept both diving events during the Eagles’ season-opening dual meet against the NCAA Division I University of North Carolina – Wilmington on Saturday afternoon. Hope won the one-meter dive, scoring 245.40 points in the event. She later set her new career-best mark in the three-meter dive, winning the event with a score of 263.40. Hope and the Eagles fell just short of upsetting the higher-division opponent, falling to the Seahawks by a 152-146 score.

    Emory University junior McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg won three events during the Eagles’ season-opening dual meet at the NCAA Division I University of North Carolina – Wilmington on Saturday afternoon. Newsum-Schoenberg opened the meet with a win the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.62. She also claimed victories with times of 2:09.75 in the 200-yard butterfly, and 5:10.47 in the 500-yard freestyle. The two-time all-American wrapped up the meet with an eighth-place finish as a part of the Eagles’ 200-yard freestyle ‘D’ relay, swimming the fastest leg of the relay with a split of 25.36, en route to a relay time of 1:44.20. Newsum-Schoenberg and the Eagles fell just short of upsetting the Division I squad, falling 152-146 to the Seahawks.

    Emory University senior Sarah Greene won both diving events at the Blue-Gold Intrasquad on Friday. Competing for the Blue team, Greene won the one-meter dive with a score of 254.55, and followed with a victory in the three-meter dive with a score of 261.53. She accounted for 18 points during the meet, helping the Blue team to a 159-128 win over the Gold team.

    Emory University junior McKenna Newsum-Schoenberg won a team-best three events at the Blue-Gold Intrasquad on Friday afternoon. In the opening meet of the season, Newsum-Schoenberg, swimming for the Gold team, claimed wins in each of the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:29.11), 200-yard butterfly (2:07.63), and 500-yard freestyle (5:11.20). She also added a second-place finish as a part of the team’s 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.55). The two-time all-American accounted for 28 of the Gold team’s points, as the squad fell to the Blue team by a 159-128 score.
