2009 Emory Women's Cross Country Athlete of The Week

    Sophomore Tess Gallegos helped the Eagles to a runner-up effort at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships last weekend in Greensboro, NC. Gallegos was the first Eagle to cross the finish line and ninth out of 189 entries with a 6K performance of 24:04.

    Junior Natalie Fenn was Emory's top performer at the University Athletic Association Cross Country Championships, placing 11th overall in the 81-runner field with a 6K time of 24:16.

    Junior Jenny Feinberg helped the Eagles to a first-place finish out of 12 teams at the Qauker Invitational. Feinberg topped the 94-runner field with a 6K time of 23:15 and sparked a strong team performance that had five runners among the top seven finishers.

    Senior Rebecca Flink helped the Eagles to a first-place finish out of 10 teams at the Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational. Flink topped the 92-runner field with a 5K time of 18:45 over sloppy conditions and sparked a strong team performance that had five runners among the top seven finishers.

    Sophomore Tess Gallegos helped the No. 29-ranked Eagles’ cross country team to a ninth-place finish out of 37 teams at the Griak Invitational. The second-year performer was the team’s No. 1 finisher and 26th out of 500 competitors as she covered the 6K course in a time of 23:38.

    Senior Rebecca Flink paced the Emory women's cross country contingent and helped the Eagles to a third-place finish out of 11 teams at the Sewanee Invitational held Sept. 5. Flink finished sixth overall in the 110-runner field with a 5K time of 19:22.93. Her performance highlighted three Emory runners who ranked among the top 15 to cross the finish line.
