(Swimming) Emory University junior Patrick Augustyn won the National Championship in the 200-yard butterfly at this weekend’s NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Augustyn won the event with a time of 1:46.87, besting the previous school record by 1.63 seconds.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Bryant Jones swam a pair of NCAA ‘B’ cut and personal season-best times at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet on Saturday and Sunday. Jones finished sixth in the finals of the 400-yard individual medley with a season-best and NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 4:02.76.
(Diving) Emory University junior Daniel Kolb was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Diver of the Year at the 2011 UAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Kolb won the three-meter dive on Friday with a school record and NCAA qualifying score of 506.85, less than two points shy of the UAA record.
(Swimming) Emory University senior Matt Spooner was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimmer of the Year after finishing first in three events and setting a record at the conference championship meet. Spooner won the 400-yard individual medley with a UAA record time of 4:01.08, good for an NCAA ‘B’ cut.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Patrick Augustyn turned in three strong performances, including a first-place finish and a ‘B’ cut time, while competing against Clemson University. Despite facing NCAA Division I competition, Augustyn won the 200-yard butterfly with a ‘B’ cut time of 1:53.01.
(Diving) Emory University’s Kolin Smialek recorded a pair of career-best scores in both dive events, including one NCAA qualifying score, during the Eagles’ dual meet against NCAA Division I Clemson University. Smialek scored 285.00 points in the one-meter dive, good for a first-place finish and an NCAA qualifying score.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Paul Weinstein recorded the best time by an Eagle this season in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while competing in a dual meet against NCAA Division II Wingate University. Weinstein finished second in the event with a time of 9:47.51.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Patrick Augustyn finished first in two events during the Eagles’ meet victories over Darton College and the Savannah College of Art & Design on Saturday. Augustyn won the 200-yard butterfly with a ‘B’ cut time of 1:52.96.
(Diving) Emory University junior Daniel Kolb won both diving events during the Eagles’ meet victories over Darton College and the Savannah College of Art & Design. Kolb placed first in the one-meter dive with an NCAA qualifying score of 282.45.
(Swimming) Emory University senior Mackenzie Perry was part of two first-place finishes during the second-ranked Eagles dual-meet victory over the 12th-ranked University of Tampa. Perry won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.07.
(Swimming) Emory University sophomore Peter O’Brien set a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke, recorded five NCAA Division III ‘A’ cut and five ‘B’ cut times, and finished first in five events, while facing mostly Division I competition at the Miami University Invitational. O’Brien’s ‘A’ cut time of 2:00.26 in the 200-yard breaststroke was the best time by a Division III swimmer this season and good for a first-place finish, breaking his own school record of 2:00.77 set during the preliminaries earlier in the day.
(Diving) Emory University sophomore Kolin Smialek was Emory’s top finisher in the one-meter dive at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Smialek finished 21st out of 31 competitors in the event, recording a score of 213.95.
(Swimming) Emory University junior Patrick Augustyn recorded five top-three finishes and one NCAA ‘B’ cut time during the Emory Fall Invitational last weekend. Augustyn finished first out of 40 swimmers in the 200-yard butterfly, winning the event with an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 1:53.48.
(Swimming) Emory University freshman Ross Spock recorded a pair of fourth-place finishes during the Eagles’ triangle meet against the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech on Wednesday. Spock finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, recording a time of 52.67 seconds.
(Diving) Emory University junior Daniel Kolb recorded a qualifying score in the one-meter dive during the Eagles’ season-opening meet against UNC Wilmington. Kolb’s score of 295.20 was more than 10 points above the NCAA Division III qualifying score, and was good for a second-place finish at the meet.
(Swimming) Emory University sophomore Peter O’Brien recorded three individual first-place finishes and one NCAA ‘B’ cut time during the Eagles’ season-opening meet against UNC Wilmington on Saturday. O’Brien finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a ‘B’ cut time of 2:06.71 in the effort.
