During the Eagles’ 9-0 win in the first round, Padmanabhan teamed with Brenna Kelly to win third doubles 8-1, before claiming a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the fourth singles match.
(Tennis) Emory University senior Lorne McManigle won both the first singles match and the first doubles match during the third-ranked Eagles’ 9-0 win over the 19th-ranked University of the South (Sewanee) on Tuesday. McManigle earned a straight-set, 6-4, 6-3 win over the Atlantic South Region’s 15th-ranked player in the first singles match.
(Tennis) Emory University’s Zahra Dawson went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play last week, leading the top-ranked Eagles to a split of two matches last week. During a 9-0 team win over Berry College, Dawson teamed with Taylor Brandt to shutout her counterparts in the third doubles match, 8-0, while winning the second singles match in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Clark clinched the team victory for Emory in the first round match against 15th-ranked DePauw University, defeating regionally ranked Janelle Arita 6-2, 6-2.

Wylie won the singles match over Salma Dahbi in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, to improve to 9-4 in singles play this year.

Playing in Emory’s second-singles role, the regionally eighth-ranked Wylie earned a straight-set, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kate Mazackova, the nationally 48th-ranked player in the NAIA.

During the team’s season-opening 6-3 loss to Division I Georgia State University, Clark won the second doubles match 9-7 with partner Jordan Wylie.

(Tennis) Emory University junior Zahra Dawson won the USTA/ITA Fall South Region Singles and Doubles Championships in Sewanee, TN last weekend. Entering the singles draw as the second-seeded player, Dawson won all six of her singles matches, including a 6-1, 6-0 win over top-seeded teammate Gabrielle Clark in the championship match.
Emory University sophomore Jordan Wylie went 3-1 in singles matches and 1-0 in doubles play, while competing at the Blue & Gray Fall Classic in Montgomery, AL to open the fall season. Competing in the fourth singles flight, Wylie opened play with a 6-1, 6-2 over a player from Shorter College, followed by a 7-6(4), 3-6, 10-4 win over a Division I opponent in the University of Alabama Birminghams Caroline Faught.
