Emory Eagles
Emory defeated Rhodes College 4-2 on Wednesday to open NCAA Tournament play and setup Friday's matchup.  With the win, the Eagles improved to 30-10 for the campaign, and have now won each of their last 11 games against Division III opponents and five-in-a-row overall.

Emory is led by Mike Twardoski, who is in his 15th season as a head coach, all of which have been spent at the Eagles' helm.  Twardoski has a career 441-206-1 ledger since taking over the position prior to the 2000 season, and has led the Eagles to eight UAA Championships and seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the World Series and a second-place finish at the 2007 NCAA Championships.  He is assisted by Associate Coach Bobby Perez and Pitching Coach Connor McGuiness, along with former major league reliever Greg McMichael.

Bridgewater Eagles
Bridgewater won its first NCAA Tournament game in thrilling fashion, defeating third-seeded Birmingham-Southern College 1-0 in 12 innings.  After the game was halted in the fourth on Wednesday night, action resumed on Thursday, with Nick Corbin entering the game and throwing eight and a third scoreless innings to earn the win.  Bridgewater, which received an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships after winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament, currently stands at 34-12.

Bridgewater is led by head coach Curt Kendall, who is currently in his 29th season at the team's helm, and has accumulated a career ledger of 694-425.  He is assisted by Scott Hearn.

Matchup History
Emory is 12-4 all-time against Bridgewater, including wins in each of the last 10 meetings, dating back to the 1997 campaign.  The two teams last met during the 2007 NCAA Championship Regions, with Emory opening tournament play with a 10-1 win over Bridgewater.  Emory also defeated Bridgewater in the 2001 NCAA Division III Regionals, the only other postseason meeting between the two teams.
