    (Track & Field) Emory University junior Ian Francis finished 18th in the triple jump at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Competing at Nationals for the first time in his career, Francis jumped 14.04 meters, marking his sixth jump of the season of more than 14 meters.

    (Track & Field) Emory University senior Everett Bryant recorded a top-five finish in the 110-meter hurdles at the Gregory Invitational last week. Bryant finished fifth in the finals of the event with a time of 15.10 seconds.

    (Track & Field) Emory University senior Jason Campbell recorded a career-best time in the 800-meter run, while competing at the Clemson Final Qualifier this weekend. Campbell notched a time of 1:53.07 in the event, just .37 seconds short of the provisional qualifying time and good for a 15th-place finish.

    (Track & Field) Emory University junior Xavier Fowler recorded a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump, while competing at the Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson University. Fowler jumped a career-best distance of 14.45 meters in the event, the second-best mark by a University Athletic Association (UAA) competitor this year.

    (Track & Field) Emory University junior Ian Francis claimed the conference title in the triple jump at the 2011 University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Francis won the event with a jump of 14.52 meters, the ninth-longest jump by an NCAA Division III athlete this season, and good for a provisional qualifying mark.

Francis’ jump of 14.33 meters was .13 meters better than the NCAA provisional qualifying mark, and the sixth-best jump by a Division III athlete this season.

    (Track & Field) Emory University junior Ben Euwer was the Eagles’ top finisher in four events at the Gem of the Hills Invitational last weekend. Euwer won the hammer throw with a distance of 46.17 meters, besting the rest of the field of six competitors.

    (Track & Field) Emory University sophomore Tony Lombardo broke the school’s outdoor pole vault record during the Emory Classic last weekend. Lombardo won the event at the meet, clearing a height of 4.60 meters to break Mark Kleinkopf’s previous school-record vault of 4.57 meters, set during the 1985 season.

    (Track & Field) Emory University junior Ben Euwer recorded four top-five finishes and won an event in his opening meet of the outdoor track and field season, the Emory Invitational. Euwer won the javelin throw with a distance of 52.35 meters, a personal-best mark by just under six meters.

His jump of 6.72 meters was a personal-best mark, and good for a fifth-place finish at the meet.

    (Track & Field) Emory University sophomore Tony Lombardo broke his own school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.60 meters in the event at the Tiger Paw Invitational. The height broke his previous school record of 4.45 meters, which he both set and matched earlier in the season.

    (Track & Field) Emory University’s Brad Pruente finished fifth out of ten competitors in the indoor pentathlon and fell just 11 points shy of a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Pruente’s score of 3,339 points was a career best mark, and the second-highest indoor pentathlon score in the program’s history.

    (Track & Field) Emory University’s Stephen Ellwood finished fourth in the unseeded 3,000-meter run at the Niswonger Invitational last weekend. The sophomore was the top non-Division I finisher out of the 43 competitors in the event. Ellwood’s time of 8:55.71 was the best this season by an Eagle.
